This policy explains what information Strangely Normal Products collects when you visit strange-normal.com, how we use it, and who we share it with. We have tried to write it in plain language. The irony of a company built on deadpan honesty having a privacy policy written in boilerplate is not lost on us.
1. Information We Collect
When you place an order, we collect:
- Your name and shipping address
- Your email address
- Payment information — processed by Stripe. We do not store your card details. Ever.
When you visit the site, we automatically collect:
- Pages visited, time spent, browser type, and general location (country/region)
- This is collected via Google Analytics (see Section 4)
- We do not collect this information to identify you personally
2. How We Use Your Information
- To fulfill and ship your order
- To send you order confirmation and shipping updates
- To respond to customer service inquiries
- To understand how people use our site so we can improve it
- To send marketing emails, if you have opted in
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with third parties except as described below.
3. Order Fulfillment — Printify
All orders are fulfilled by Printify, our print-on-demand production partner. Your name, shipping address, and order details are passed to Printify to produce and ship your order. Printify has its own privacy policy, available at printify.com.
4. Analytics — Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics (via Google Site Kit) to understand how visitors use our site. This includes pages visited, time on site, general location, and device type. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect this data.
Google Analytics data is anonymous and aggregated. We cannot identify individual visitors from this data.
To opt out of Google Analytics tracking across all websites, you can install the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
5. Payment Processing — Stripe
Payments are processed by Stripe. When you check out, your payment information is transmitted directly to Stripe and is not stored on our servers. Stripe is PCI-DSS compliant. Stripe’s privacy policy is available at stripe.com/privacy.
6. Email Marketing — Mailchimp
If you opt in to our email list at checkout, your email address is added to our Mailchimp account. We use this to send occasional updates about new products and promotions. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any email.
We do not add anyone to our email list without their explicit consent.
7. Cookies
Our site uses cookies for the following purposes:
- Session cookies — to keep your shopping cart working while you browse
- Analytics cookies — placed by Google Analytics (see Section 4)
- Payment cookies — placed by Stripe during checkout
Most browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. Disabling cookies may affect how the site functions, particularly the shopping cart.
8. Data Retention
We retain order information for as long as required by law (typically 7 years for tax purposes). Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics’ default settings. You may request deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing us.
9. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data (subject to legal obligations)
- Opt out of marketing communications at any time
